Gooey Goat · MEP solutions

MEP software, built to be checked.

Gooey Goat provides MEP solutions: programs and services for mechanical, electrical and plumbing engineers, built around one verified calculation engine. Everything we make shows its method and keeps its record, so the engineer responsible can retrace any result. Firefinch FHC, for fire sprinkler hydraulics, is the first.

FHC Fire sprinkler hydraulics for Windows

Hydraulic calculations that show their working.

Firefinch FHC lays out, solves and reports fire sprinkler systems, and it is fast to draw in: most of a network is placed by commands, not by hand.

Layout

Lays out sprinklers for you

Fills a zone outline with sprinklers that meet your spacing and coverage limits, and connects them to the main.

Size

Sizes the pipes

Auto-size proposes pipe sizes against your velocity and pressure limits. Nothing changes until you apply them.

Project

Many zones, one project

Each zone keeps its own design basis and design area. Solve one, or every zone against one shared pump.

Building

Levels, in 3D

Work floor by floor, then see the whole building in 3D, with each floor's drawing shown at its own height.

Speed

Fast to build

Trace over the architect's PDF, then Array, Stitch and Generate fittings build the rest of the network in bulk.

AI tools

Your AI tool, through MCP

Connect the AI app you choose. It can do nearly everything a click can, down to reading a pump curve off a datasheet, while you keep every decision.

How we check

Every number has a paper trail.

Fire and building services calculations protect lives, so you should not have to take ours on trust. Our engine is held to these checks, and so is every program built on it.

Checked against independent software

We check our solver against EPANET 2.2, the US EPA's open hydraulic solver, on a set of reference networks, and compare the results on every change.

Verified before every release

The verification suite runs on every proposed change and again on the release build. A change that moves a verified number cannot be released unless the record is deliberately changed and reviewed.

Stamped on every report

Every report records the calculation program, the exact engine version and a fingerprint of its inputs.

No result without proof

When the engine cannot establish a number, it stops and says why. It never prints a best guess.

Every quantity carries its unit

The engine solves in SI, with units checked wherever values enter it. Conversion for display happens once, on screen and in the report.

Methods shipped with the program

A calculations reference ships with each program. It documents the methods, formulas and constants the engine uses, and the assumptions the reviewing engineer should confirm.

Our software does
  • Calculates every value and shows the method behind it
  • Checks each result against the limits you entered
  • Proposes, and changes nothing until you accept
  • Records the program, engine version and inputs behind every report
The reviewing engineer decides
  • Which code and edition apply to the project
  • The design values and the limits to check against
  • Whether to accept what the software proposes
  • Whether the design is right, and signs it off
Design criteria wizard · In development

Design criteria with a paper trail.

The wizard walks the code's own decision tree with you, one question at a time. Every value it derives carries the table or clause it came from, so the criteria can be checked line by line.

  • Follows the code. Occupancy, system, ceiling and sprinkler, in the code's order. Each answer chooses the next branch, and the criteria build up as you go.
  • Checked against print. Every table the wizard reads is checked against the printed code, cell by cell, before it ships.
  • NFPA 13 (2025) first. We are working towards formal support for NFPA 13 (2025). The rest of Firefinch FHC is code-agnostic: enter design values and limits from any code and it checks against them.
  • Online, or inside Firefinch FHC. With a Firefinch FHC licence, use it online and take the criteria to Firefinch FHC or any other hydraulics program. Inside Firefinch FHC you can also override a value and make the criteria a zone's design basis.
  • Yours to confirm. Derived criteria are a starting point. The reviewing engineer confirms them before they are relied on.
